Real Time Media Flow Protocol (RTMFP) is a proprietary protocol from Adobe Systems for streaming audio, video and data over the Internet, between a Flash player and a server. It is implemented in flash player 10. To take advantage of the feature users need to establish an Internet connection via future releases of Adobe Flash Media Server or other Adobe server products.

[edit] Operation
RTMFP provides a UDP-based secure network transport alternative to RTMP-over-TCP. RTMFP is always encrypted which helps protect media delivery.
[edit] History
The technology is a result of Adobe’s acquisition of Amicima in 2006.
