[edit] Profile
Real Gold was formed to help spotlight new talent in London, with an early tag line of "Brains Against The Grain". They achieved success via a distinct air of secrecy, hosting various events and releasing limited edition products. There is a heavy use of cataloging with their releases very similar to that of Factory Records.
[edit] Partial Biography
As an early means of promotion, members of Real Gold would DJ at various events in London, the first of which being an after party for the band Animal Collective on Saturday August 26th 2006. Real Gold's first release was a t-shirt designed by crew member Jack Parmesan to celebrate Halloween in 2006. On December 2nd 2006, Real Gold held their first event; a rave in Hackney with 1,000 attendees. The collective stopped Disc Jockeying in very early 2007, months after appearing in Dummy Magazine's feature on London's most exciting DJs. Throughout 2007 they established club nights such as The International Amalgamation Of Champions and Cough / Cool. On November 24th 2007 they opened a 4 week pop-up store in central London with Silverspoon Attire. On February 11th 2008, Real Gold posted news on their website about the launch of their upcoming magazine.
