Richard Childers was the organizer of Infinite Illusions at the Smithsonian Institution in 1990. This was the first major museum show dedicated to the field of computer graphics and featured speakers from throughout the industry including Jim Blinn, Jim Kajia, Dave Evans, Bill Kovacs, Robert Abel, Alvy Ray Smith, Ed Catmul, Krinstina Hooper and many others. Stuart Tabori and Chang published a book entitled Infinite Illusions: The History of Computer Generated Imagry by Richard Childers and Christopher Baker.

Mr. Childers supervised the development of 23 interactive cdroms for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists dealing with informed consent for womens health issues. He is currently developing a high definition virtual world project called Blue Mars based upon Crytek's CryEngine2.
