Rasmussen College is a private, for profit, two-year and four-year degree granting college that has stressed career training excellence, convenient class scheduling, employer networking opportunities and a community-like learning environment, for over 100 years.
Rasmussen College offers daytime, evening and online classes, with multiple start dates in a year, allowing flexibility for students to attend traditional on-campus or online classes, whenever it best fits into their busy lifestyles.
Rasmussen College is part of the Rasmussen College, Inc. system.

Rasmussen College is Accredited By: The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges & Schools (NCA)
In 1994, Rasmussen College, then a Nationally Accredited school, began a multi-year process to earn the right to become a Regionally Accredited College.
When Rasmussen received approval from the Higher Learning Commission in 2001 and was recognized as a Regionally Accredited Institution, a conscious decision was made to maintain the quality that distinguishes a Nationally Accredited School, while embracing the new qualities inherent in their Regionally Accredited Institutional peers.

Rasmussen College was founded by Walter Rasmussen, in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, to meet the needs of the budding business environment at the turn of the century. Classes began in September of 1900.
Walter Nemitz, an instructor at Rasmussen, purchased Rasmussen College from Walter Rasmussen in 1945. Then in 1961, Wilbur C. Nemitz and Robert W. Nemitz, both instructors at Rasmussen College and sons of Walter Nemitz, purchased Rasmussen College from their father.
Rasmussen College celebrated its 100th Anniversary in the year 2000, marking a century of leadership and innovation in career education.
In 2001, Rasmussen College was awarded Regional Accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (NCA). Rasmussen College expands its class schedule options to include online courses. Rasmussen College joined Deltak edu, Inc. in 2004, to become a part of the Deltak College Network. This partnership provides Rasmussen College with industry-leading expertise in online education and new program development.
