Talk:Rax (restaurant)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There some stuff on Rax in some google sites when I checked. You should also find some articles on their business there a site that has news Rax about going back 25 years the site is called: www.findarticles.com. One site has the old restaurants it's called: www.columbustour.com/rest-history/chains.html. More Rax info can be found at www.highbeam.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.12.116.67 (talk • contribs) 02:20, 11 December 2005
[edit] Midwest?
I wouldn't really call West Virginia and PA the "midwest."
Where can I find a list of all of the Rax Restaurants still open?
Trying to confirm the following story (if I was certain, I'd just edit the article directly), but:
http://orig.thestarpress.com/blogs/ECIBizBlog/2007/07/rax_fading_into_oblivion.html
Quote: "Rax slips further into oblivion with the planned closing Saturday of the Rax in Richmond, which is believed to be the last Rax in Indiana."
Now, granted, the article doesn't call the Anderson Rax the last one in Indiana, but my point is that if the linked article is correct, the Anderson one should be referred to in the past tense.
Plus: Seconding the above comment: Does anyone know of a list of Rax's that are still open? Now that the ones I know about are gone, I'm sort of feeling nostalgic. :)

- Heres a list of locations as of May 2006: http://web.archive.org/web/20060503155058/www.rax-online.com/raxlocations.htm. It was outdated even then. I believe many of them are now closed, and some that are open now are not listed there (like the Bellefontaine one). And some phone numbers are incorrect. That's the last version of the page available before Rax's websites were abandoned.
- As for Anderson, IN, according to this page (http://www.nathandiehl.com/2007/05/14/clifty-falls-and-madison-ind-vacation-review-part-4/), the Anderson location was at least open in May 2007. AndrewSP 05:38, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Rax dissolved?
I recently made a trip back to Ohio State for the Thanksgiving holiday. It seems that Carpediem Management based in Chillicothe, Ohio [1] located at a former Rax in Chillicothe is torn down for a White Castle. Do you considered that Rax is officially no more? I mean there is implacations that we everyone can use the logos with free use. Spongefan (talk) 02:57, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
I used to love Rax when I was a little kid. I live in the Pittsburgh area, and I've been travelling alot through Ohio and West Virginia as part of my work, and I haven't seen one Rax during my travelling. There used to be at least one within my travelling distance, so I was also curious as to whether or not Rax was defunct. The Anderson store is still open. It is not part of the franchise, as far as I know. The owners there have said for years they specifically own that store and are not connected with the rest.
