I'm planning on doing a lot more here. The full history wasn't clear and thus is very incomplete and partially inaccurate, but it looks like Rasputina has updated their site with better information so I can edit that or someone else can if they get to it first. I'm really hoping that this page can be improved on sometime in the future. At the moment I think this really needs to be sorted out: The page says "Creager writes all of the lyrics for Rasputina, performs all of the vocals, and does all of the cover art for the albums." Yet the album at the side states "Cover from "The Lost and Found" by Ryan Obermeyer", and looking at his page it seemed he has done more than just this cover for the band.. so which is it? [edit] Clean up

I'm going to try and clean up the page and sort out current and past band members in the next week or so (since my last exam is tomorrow but I don't need to go back to school for another week). If I have time after I'll fill in the missing infoboxes and information about albums, but if I don't get it done next week I may have to leave some for the summer holidays. I'm not sure if we need the paragraph in History referring to a few ephemeral members and how long they stayed when we also have the list of past members... seems like a redundancy. Maybe we could just mention that they've had a varying degree of members (refer to past members section), Julia left, and currently it's just Melora and Jonathon? Ansate 02:16, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

I decided to delete rasputina as part of the category "all female bands" as the drummer is a male and thus it is not an all female band. duh. -blakelove

Regarding the suggestion to merge the bio page with the Perilous World page: I think that is a bad idea. I just found out about this band from the Woodsongs show 451. I think having a short description of a recent album with a link to the album is a good idea. This is a great band and deserves to have a bio page.```

I am of the opinion that the "New Album" section SHOULD be merged with the Oh Perilous World entry. But that's just me. IAmAgentMunky (talk) 03:24, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Is there anyway to confirm if 'Rose K.' is about Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy or Rosemary Kennedy? Neither had Alzhiemers. -Drendiloon

Rose Marie Kennedy (Who was lobotomized) is referenced several times on the section of the official website that lists several live song introductions made by Melora. -porky 07:13, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, this seems to have come up again. Somebody changed the page stating that the lyrics prove it isn't about Rose Marie Kennedy, and that it's about Rose Kennedy and her Alzhiemers. I have gone over the lyrics and disagree with that claim.

Additionally, I can find no reference whatsoever to show that Rose Kennedy ever had Alzhiemers, other than a blog by a Rasputina fan. I believe the idea that she did have this disease is due to confusion over Melora's joke "This used to be our Alzhiemers song. But that was such a downer that we changed it to our incontinence song" that introduces the song on A Radical Recital. The song is clearly about somebody with brain deterioration, and calling it an Alzhiemers song is probably just an easy way for Melora to get the point of her joke across.

Melora has also made the following jokes in concert (from the link I posted above):

"Is it wrong that Rose Kennedy lobotomized her daughter for some small acts of willfulness? Thankful are we to not be Kennedys."

"Were the Kennedys cursed with that kind of big teeth because of their misdeeds? Is it naive to hope for divine retribution for a woman who lobotomized her own daughter for some small act of romantic willfulness? I think not."

"Lobotomizing the retarded daughter, blah,blah. Those darn Kennedy's get away with everything!"

Melora is clearly interested in Rosemarie Kennedy and her lobotomy. And since Rosemarie is the only one of the two Rose K's in question who was actually ever in a state of deteriorated brain capacity, I still strongly believe the song to be about her. -porky (talk) 10:11, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Does anyone know if Melora really wrote "The Mayor" about her mentally ill friends, because it could have been her twisted humor seeing as most people associate the president and his "Bush-isms" with seemingly low intelect. -Gunblader928 (talk) 20:50, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
