[edit] Gay Icon Project

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 22:20, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cat:Sex symbols

Image:Playboy December 1979.jpg

Do we have a WP:CITEation for the playboy "most desired woman"? To have a Wikipedia:Reliable source that names her as a sex symbol like that will have satisfied WP:V for the category. - brenneman(t)(c) 22:23, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

It's self-cited within the article already. Put your specs on and see below:
That was the most bad ass CITE I have ever seen. I knew I should have invested in a bigger monitor. ^_^ brenneman(t)(c) 00:32, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
And that's just the cover! (Actually, Rocky never did a nude spread, just provocative poses). Wahkeenah 00:35, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
The article states Ironically, despite her iconic sex symbol status, having acted in numerous films and been subject of countless magazine layouts, including Playboy, Welch has never appeared or posed nude. I seem to remember her doing a topless scene in The Magic Christian - does that not count as 'appearing nude'?

[edit] Unused image

Image:Racquel-uso.jpg
Raquel Welch onstage during a December 1967 USO show

This image was used on the "Entertainers who performed for troops during the Vietnam War" category page; that category has been deleted. If the image isn't used somewhere, it will be deleted. I just thought you'd like the opportunity to make use of it; however, in a quick scan of the article, there doesn't seem to be a mention that she performed in USO shows in Vietnam.DomBot talk ; Chidom talk, owner/operator. 19:58, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

This image lacks better source info. It's says it's from "Library of Congress Prints & Photographs Division.", but no link or refernce number is given, so the info can't be verified. As this image is very likely public domain, I will try to find it in the LOC website and update that info, and then, use the image. If someone already knows the link for this image in the LOC website, please shre this info. --Abu Badali 20:08, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunatelly, searching for raquel welch on LOC Prints & Photographs Online Catalog doesn't returns this image :( . --Abu Badali 20:22, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Marriage of Damon Welch & Rebecca Truman

I've updated the main article with more details of this wedding and Ms Welch's lateness - she was all over the cover of the UK's Daily Telegraph for doing this (I believe in 1991). I believe the admission that she was late on purpose came from either the Sunday Express Magazine or the Sunday Telegraph magazine around the time Welch was appearing in the stage play "The Millionairess" in the UK. I think this would have been the mid 90s but so far I haven't been able to track down the source. Appliance matt 11:14, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Myramovieposter.jpg

Image:Myramovieposter.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:09, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
