Rapid transit in the People's Republic of China

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first modern Rapid transit in the People's Republic of China is Beijing Subway, which is in operation since 1969. However, in some sense, the Nanjing city railway (1907-1958) is the first urban railway in China. Currently, rapid transit systems have been deployed in several major cities and more are under construction or in planing.
