Randall Salerno (January 4, 1963 - January 24, 2008) was an American news anchor for CBS news in Chicago at WBBM-TV, working alongside Roseanne Tellez. Since September 2004, he had been co-anchoring CBS 2's morning news from 5:00am - 7:00am.
Salerno had previously worked at WGN-TV.

[edit] Biography
Salerno served as a general assignment reporter and as the weekend morning news anchor from 1994 till 1999.
Before working at WGN, Salerno was a reporter and weekend anchor at WNYT-TV in Albany, New York. Prior to that, he worked at WMBD-TV and WHOI-TV in Peoria. He began his broadcasting career at WIFR-TV in Rockford as a general assignment reporter.
Salerno received his B.S. in Communications from Illinois State University. He lived in Crystal Lake, Illinois, where he attended Crystal Lake South High School and played basketball.

Salerno died tragically in a snowmobile accident on the night of January 24, 2008 on Plum Lake near Sayner/Eagle River, Wisconsin. Salerno was a passenger on a snowmobile when the snowmobile struck a tree after the driver, Scott Hirschey, missed the trail entrance. There were poor trail markings and, Hirschey, 44, went to the wrong side of the trail marker. Hirschey was arrested on one count of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, according to a statement from the Vilas County Sheriff's Department. Hirschey was injured in the crash and would not appear in court on the charge until he is released from the hospital, authorities said.
Salerno is survived by his wife Irene and 3 children.

Randy Salerno won a local Emmy Award for his work on CBS 2's 2004 broadcast of the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon.
