Rameswaram is a census town in Cuddapah district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

As of 2001 India census[1], Rameswaram had a population of 14,981. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Rameswaram has an average literacy rate of 48%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 59%, and female literacy is 37%. In Rameswaram, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
