[edit] YALE and feature selection

Dear Ralf, I saw from your change on the feature selection site that Yale has a lot of algorithms, but which one? JKW 18:47, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Dear JKW / Joerg Kurt, YALE offers several methods for feature generation and selection including e.g. forward selection, backward elemination, and combined generation and selection schemes based on evolutionary algorithms. For a full list, please check the YALE tutorial, which is downloadable from the YALE web page (http://yale.sf.net/) and especially its operator reference part. Or simply start the YALE GUI (graphical user interface), create a new experiment setup, and add an operator to the initially empty experiment setup. When you add an operator, you can select from a large menu of available operators, which are grouped by the operator types. Hence choosing the type feature selection, you receive a list of feature selection operators to chose from. I hope this helps. Best regards, Ralf 19:01, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
