[edit] ModernPhoenix's contribution to research on Ralph Haver
User Hu12 deleted my substantial "un-stubbing" article prepared for the Ralph Haver entry, citing spamming by linking to my own website (a significant repository of primary source info on Ralph Haver).
I am concerned that Hu12 perceived my edits to the Ralph Haver entry to be self-promotion or linking to my own personal site out of vanity or seeking PageRank. I don't need Google's PageRank. In good faith, I assure the Wiki community that my entries are intended to provide access to the latest research and findings about this remarkable man and his work, including resources that are hosted exclusively on my site such as an interview with Haver's son and the web's largest collection of Haver Home imagery (which I would like to find seminal photos of to illustrate the article).
Since I do not believe that my links are either "advertising nor inappropriate" as suggested by Hu12, I presume the editorial objection is with the guideline "Links to blogs and personal web pages, except those written by a recognized authority." I am a recognized writer/scholar in this field and have since 2003 maintained the internet's only repository of primary source material about Ralph Haver's life and work. To write the entry, I had to cite my own work. The scope of our website's reach and influence can be easily verified through a simple Google search for modernphoenix.net and monitoring incoming links recognizing the site as a valid and reliable resource about midcentury modern design in Phoenix.
If necessary to assist in editorial assessment of how the public and media rely on us for information, visit the modernphoenix.net "ABOUT" page for a sampling of citations in the print media validating my expertise and our award-winning website. Not to mention just check out the unparalleled volume of content on the subject at hand. ;-)
I request that my substantial and factual contribution to the Ralph Haver page be reinstated as written, and that as many internal and external links to ModernPhoenix as appropriate be left intact as one-of-a-kind worldwide resources used explicitly in forming the content of the Ralph Haver wiki entry. Specifically the "Haver Taxonomy" page and the "Growing up Haver" page as well as the general reference link to ModernPhoenix.net
I re-entered the article tonight without the hyperlinks to Modern Phoenix resources that were cited. Trust me, I'd link to someone else if I could, there just isn't any parallel content to cite. I appeal to other contributors to this page to speak up. Please help me make this right and just get the facts out there while also attributing the valid source for those facts. A version of the substantial update I wrote and where links were cited can be viewed in this entry's history.
Thanking you in advance for your thoughtful consideration.Alisonking (talk) 08:31, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
