Ralph H. Doxey

Ralph H. Doxey (born December 7, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee), is an attorney and a Republican politician in the Mississippi Senate who has represented the 2nd ditrict which encompasses Benton, Marshall and Tippah counties since 2004.

[edit] Early Life and Education
Doxey was born on December 7, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.B.A. and from the University's law school with a J.D. Senator Doxey is affilitated with Phi Delta Theta, Delta Sigma Pi and Phi Alpha Delta. He is a member of Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association.
[edit] Legislative Experience
Doxey served as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1976 until 1988. After a hiatus of 16 years, Doxey was elected to the Senate and has served there since 2004. In the Senate, he is Chairman of the Corrections committee and Vice Chairman of the Judiciary, Division A committee. He also serves on the Fees, Salaries & Administration; Finance; Highways & Transportation and Labor committees.

Doxey is married to Jean Hutchinson. They have four children, Renee, Elizabeth, Kathleen and Ralph. He is a Presbyterian.
