[edit] Network Model?
As I recall ... and my memory may be faulty after twenty-plus years, the original db_Vista was:
- a continuation of an earlier product, which was just a linkable C-library, and whose name escapes me, and more importantly,
- a network model database, instead of relational
I recall that their original marketing was all about how much more "real world" the network model was than the relational, and how much more efficient.
Then I think when Velocis came out (and didn't they run an ad in Dr. Dobb's with a picture of a shark?) that they sort of transformed it into a hybrid network model with a relational interface to become SQL compliant.
I want to know if A) my memory is correct, and B) whatever happened to the original network model - does any RDM product still retain any hint of network?
