A pair of brightly-coloured Rainbow Lorikeets (Trichoglossus haematodus) nesting in a palm tree in Perth, Western Australia. Introduced from eastern Australasia, the lorikeets have adapted well to metropolitan life. Some councils are considering eradication programmes; as the lorikeets compete with native birds, such as the spectacular Twenty-Eights.
