Rahul Khanna

Rahul Khanna (born 20 June 1972) is an Indian actor.
He is the son of the actor (and MP) Vinod Khanna and brother of Akshaye Khanna, both popular in Indian cinema.
Rahul was raised in Bombay and went on to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute as well as the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Rahul began his career as a VJ (video jockey) with MTV Asia. His immense popularity across Asia was established by continuously tremendous press and reviews.
Rahul made his feature film debut in Canadian director Deepa Mehta’s Earth, alongside Aamir Khan . His performance garnered him several awards including the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Debut (2000). He has since also appeared in Mehta's Bollywood/Hollywood (2003).
Rahul's mainstream Bollywood films include Elaan and Raqeeb.
Rahul has also been seen on stage in the New York production of the hit West-End play, East is East. Directed by Scott Elliott (A Map of the World), Rahul’s performance as Tariq, the rebellious son of a Pakistani father and British mother, won him acclaim from audiences and critics, alike.
Rahul’s other international credits include The Emperor's Club with Kevin Kline.

An ardent animal lover, Rahul posed for PeTA's campaign to free elephants from the appalling conditions they face in Indian zoos. Rahul also wrote a public letter to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra asking him to ban the entry of performing elephants into Mumbai after hearing of an elephant that was hit and killed by a truck.
