[edit] Merger proposal - Anglesey Airport into RAF Valley

I am scratching my head as to why the two articles presently exist. RAF Valley is the site and it remains RAF operated, with a £1.5M terminal built on it to provide civilian facilities. The two articles also contain much the same information, with only the civilian debate around why the service to Cardiff should exist. Rgds, --Trident13 12:49, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

I disagree, they are in effect two different airports. one a military airfield, the other, a commercial airfeild. They just share the same runway. Devouring the webs information! 18:19, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

I also disagree. The existence of the commercial entry should allow the addition of additional data on the terminal and other facilities, recording of the political and economic development debate, and of course the efforts to secure further flights. All this would be irrelevant to the RAF Valley entry.Pete 12:20, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

The Anglesey Airport page is misleading by postulating 2 different places. As I understand it, the MoD has given a licence for the erection of a terminal building on the MoD land with permission for commercial flights to operate off the runway using the MoD's ATC etc. The term airfield has a specific meaning and there is only one airfield. The Anglesey Airport entry should discuss the commercial development of the terminal etc but make it clear that aircraft use RAF Valley's aerodrome (another term with specific meaning).HandbrakeTurns 22:18, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Ah, that's better. I can agree with two entries for different aspects, each referring to the other.Pete 13:52, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Nice suggestion HandbrakeTurns - I can agree with that. Rgds, --Trident13 19:15, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
