From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Radiolarite is a high silica sedimentary rock which may be considered a variety of chert. It is formed as primary deposits and contains radiolarian microfossils. Radiolarite indicates deep water deposition below the lysocline where siliceous sediments are stable and carbonates are dissolved.
