Template:R from 1632 character
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- This template generates an error message without proper inputs, so is not shown above
This template autocategorizes a page to the categories Category:1632 series minor characters and comprensive list of characters Category:1632 series characters. Pages tagged with this template should be redirected to a coresponding section title of the main character compendium article 1632 characters which would contain a synopsis of who the character is and what their role in the series has been to date.
- Note, most minor characters will not have their own section title for it would clutter up the article Table of contents to the point of making the article unwieldy. Use an alphabetical range block title as the redirect target (e.g. "==SAA to WES=="), in such cases for the section link in the redirect page. (or the nearest section with a title where the section shows on the same screen page)
Usage the redirect page "Call" can be Dan Frost or Dan Frost , but the redirect page would be expressed:
#redirect 1632 characters#Frost, Dan Frost, Dan
on whatever page is open and available.
Note: When citing any 1632 character in any page, verify that any good links are going to the proper page! Dan Frost is a good example of a case where the name is not free. Using a nickname form like Becky Stearns is likely to miss most articles on real people.
- Note that 1632 characters sections are listed Surname, First and Middle names, Title order, so your section redirect will need be of the same nature and order. (See Dan Frost example above)
- The template is designed to be used solely from within redirect pages (must be on same line as ']]' of the redirect link, or won't function from a redirect page.)
- Either the parameter {} or 'pipe=' can be used to set the sort order for the category pages.
-
- The preferred order should be by Surname, First name such as
|}Abrabanel, Rebecca and |Stearns, Michael. - If the template is used within a redirect page, the pipetrick should be prefixed by '}' (see example above), and the redirect must be directed to a stand-alone article of 1632 series (e.g. Rebecca Abrabanel Stearns, and Rebecca Stearns, redirect to Becky Stearns— the name used most frequently in the series). The pipetricks respectively would be "}Stearns, Rebecca", "}Stearns, Rebecca Abrabanel", and "Stearns, Becky".
- The preferred order should be by Surname, First name such as
- related
- — used to link to a major character which has not (yet) had a stand alone article begun. Such links should end (linkto) in a sub-section title of 1632 characters (e.g. 1632 characters#Frost, Dan).
