R. S. Mangalam is a panchayat town in Ramanathapuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], R. S. Mangalam had a population of 11,044. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. R. S. Mangalam has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 62%. In R. S. Mangalam, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
