R. Prabhu (born 31st May, 1947) is an Indian National Congress member of Parliament in India, representing the the Nilgiris (Ooty) constituency of Tamil Nadu, India.

He is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India, representing the the Nilgiris (Ooty) constituency of Tamil Nadu, India.
A five-term Member of Parliament [1] he is also a former Union minister in India. [2]

He is the grandson of eminent industrialist and Indian Civil Service officer Velagapudi Ramakrishna, on the maternal side.
