R. Luke Concanen

Bishop Richard Luke Concanen (December 27, 1747 - June 19, 1810) was the first bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese of New York.
Born in Kilbegnet, Co. Galway, Ireland, he was ordained a priest on December 22, 1770, and ordained bishop on April 24, 1808. He served as bishop of the diocese of New York from that date until his death.
