R. G. Jarvis

Ronald G. Jarvis was a British locomotive engineer.

Originally apprenticed at Derby Works, during World War II he was sent to Turkey to oversee the construction of the TCDD 45151 Class LMS Stanier Class 8Fs, and then to India with William Stanier. After the war, he worked briefly under George Ivatt before being transferred to Brighton Works on the Southern Region of the newly nationalised British Railways, replacing Oliver Bulleid. Later he returned to Derby and oversaw the development of the Class 43 High Speed Train power cars.
