I have classified the article as a start. There is potential for expansion both in the sections on her early life and her singing career. It also needs more sourcing. Capitalistroadster 01:50, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

I take the liberty to withdraw the mention of Régine Crespin singing Offenbach's La Périchole. She admittedly recorded the part, once, in the 70s, but declined to perform it on stage, because she was "too tall for the role; what you want is a petite bonne femme" [her words to myself in a private conversation...] Hocbes --81.57.171.62 08:33, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
