I'm kinda fascinated by quote whores and had some ideas for the page. I wanted to put a draft here first, before actually putting them up. Please let me know what you think!

Quote Whore refers to a film (or other, but principally film) critic who provides favorable quotes to be used by studios for promotion in tacit exchange for press junkets and/or other consideration. Their quotes are used in the television, print, web and point of sale marketing for movies, a $106 million industry in 2007.

Some of the most widely-quoted critics work for or own obscure or defunct publications. Often, their blurbs are included in advertising for movies that were not pre-screened for critics or were produced before the final edits of the movies were completed.
