Quintus (abbreviated Q. or Qu.), fem. Quinta, is a common ancient Roman praenomen. It means "fifth", i. e. "born during the fifth month" or fifth-born son. Parallels are the Roman praenomina Sextus (sixth), Septimus (seventh), Octavus (eight) and Decimus (tenth).
