[edit] Licensing
This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the album or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
[edit] Fair use rationale for Songs for the Deaf
This image, Queens deaf 2.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I, Broken soul 11:47, 14 June 2007 (UTC) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- It is a low resolution copy of an LP album cover;
- It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the LP album in any way;
- It illustrates only the topic in question (featured only in the article);
- The image is not used for profit - only for demonstration and/or illustrative purposes;
- Copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the album artwork on another LP;
- The image on the cover is significant because it was made by a famous artist, Queens of the Stone Age.
