Quarter sawn lumber can be produced in several ways, without necessarily quartering the log first. The final product is what justifies the quarter sawn label. A board with the growth rings directed vertically through it while observed end wise is all that is required to meet the criteria. Mlouiskroll 14:37, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
