Quantum is a work management philosophy. The originally physical term, defined as the fundamental unit energy in physics, represents the methods of dividing a business problem into several unit components. Oriented from one unit to another and also empowered by the guide for each unit, users can be finally leaded to the solution. The three paradigm shifts about work associated with Quantum are
- Manage work by its outcome (Target Result) as opposed to by an action
- Communicate in a question-answer pattern
- Manage performance by performance indicator
These 3 principles are embedded into a collection of 20 Quantum methods / skills, each of which is a simplified step-by-step guide about a specific transferable skill. (see Quantum skill portfolio)

[edit] Quantum tools
Each Quantum method is associated with one Quantum tool, which is a pre-set table developed to help users recall and apply the Quantum methods. Each Quantum tool tabulates the coaching questions of a particular Quantum method into a pre-set table which guides users towards mastering the method by going through the steps as set out in the table. For many, Quantum is this set of Quantum tools.
[edit] Training format
Quantum is trained in a standardized format. Unlikely traditional classroom training, all standardized training workshops of Quantum tools, such as Quantum Challenge, Quantum Achiever, Quantum Express, guide learners to apply Quantum tools to solve their specfic, actual problem right during the workshop, helping them to learn the method by seeing the application in the learners' context.
[edit] Origin
Quantum originates as the consulting methodology of FDMT, a consulting firm. After years of development, Quantum has become a work management philosophy. The term "Quantum", the originally physics term defined as the fundamental unit energy in physics, is used to signify the attempt to percept work skill as something inseparable to a collection of discrete methods.
