QuadraScan

QuadraScan video technology was a system created by Atari for their vector graphic arcade games. The original QuadraScan was a system of refreshing the vector graphics so that they looked smooth during movement and maintained their shape. A few years later a new system called Color QuadraScan was developed that allowed vector games to utilize the palette afforded to raster games, while still maintaining the fresh and clean graphic looks of their predacessors.Color QuadraScan video technology was a system of creating the excitement of Vector graphic gameplay with the added attraction of displaying said graphics in color. Atari designed the technology and outsourced its construction to the electronics display manufacturer Wells-Gardner Electronics Corp. The technology essentially took a color raster cathode-ray tube and added three Z-amplifiers to control the three color guns.
