Qingdao Technological University

Qingdao Technological University (QTech), also Qingdao Polytechnic University, is a university located in Qingdao, Shandong, China. QTech is particularly well-known for its programs in civil, mechanical, and environmental engineering. QTech began as small engineering institute and has grown in a few decades into a large and all-encompassing university offering degrees in engineering, science, business management, arts, and law. The university also offers adult education courses.

Qingdao Technological University has its main campus located in the Sifang district of Qingdao and has two satellite campuses in Qingdao's Huangdao District and Feixian County of Shandong Province.

- December 1952 - Formation as Qingdao School of Civil Engineering
- June 1960 – Renamed Shandong Institute of Metallurgical and Civil Engineering and began accepting undergraduates. Degrees in mining, engineering and mineral processing offered.
- September 1985 - Renamed Qingdao Institute of Civil Engineering & Architecture. The institute stopped offering degrees in mining and mineral processing.
- May 2004 - Acquired present name, Qingdao Technological University.
- 2005 – QTech permitted to offer doctorate degrees.
