  • Agree // Both articles describe a similar idea with slightly different terminology. This seems like a prime candidate for merging. Fazul 13:54, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose // You have two really poorly written articles (no offense) that need serious help/editing! Fix one or both articles and then you can talk about editing. . .now is not the time. I am willing to fix up the US article sometime over the next 2 to 3 weeks. Will propose changes to the "sleeper car" article and see if users support the changes. [edit] Origin of "Q"?

This article says that the Q in Q-boat or Q-ship stands for quiet, but the article on Q-ship says that it comes from the home port of the Q-ships being Queenstown. I'm inclined to believe the Q-ship explanation since it has a citation, but if anyone else has more information I'd certainly be willing to hear it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.227.135.67 (talk) 05:38, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

"Quiet-car" seems very much a backronym to me, as the origin is clearly from Q-ship. That some erroneously apply it to the car may justify its inclusion, but not the claim that it applies to the ships. Nick Cooper (talk) 08:06, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
