From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Punnyurkulam is a village in Thrissur district of Kerala, South India. It is 10 km far away from the temple town of Guruvayur along the Guruvayur-Ponnani state highway. The village is the birthplace of writers such as M. T. Vasudevan Nair, Nalapattu Balamaniyamma and Kamala Das.
Kamala Das's major work Balyakala Smaranakal draws the picture of the village and its heritage. Temples like Pavittakulangara Devi Temple, Parur Siva Temple and Govidapuram Krishna Temple are few of the icons of its cultural heritage.
