The Brazilian punk-rock scene started in the middle 70's, firstly unaware to some bands, in São Paulo and Brasília with Joelho de Porco (protopunk, 72-77), AI-5, Lixomania, Restos do Nada, Aborto Elétrico but the punk "boom" was when 80's started, with Inocentes, Cólera, Ratos do Porão, Garotos Podres, Plebe Rude, Olho Sêco, Ignoze, Mercenárias (an all woman band), and a State of Bahia representant Camisa de Venus etc... Inocentes recorded with a big label in 1986, when the Brazilian punk scene already was growing cold. In 1986 Cólera was the first Brazilian punk band to make international shows, and then, Ratos do Porão.
