I can set up a box like at the bottom of the DDR pages. I'm voting for splitting the article just like DDR, in to "List of Pump It Up games" and each version having its own page. eXonyte 04:35, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

It was suggested within the Todo that up to three songs are chosen for each mix for representation purposes. I'm opening this topic for people to suggest their own songs. I will also help out whenever I can. For the record, I'm using Pump Haven's Master Song List Pages for trying to find good ones.

[edit] The 1st Dance Floor (Arcade)

  • Another Truth: Also known as Cordiality, this song is in almost every mix.
  • Funky Tonight: Also in almost every mix, this song was heavily freestyled.
  • Ignition Starts: Technically the first song ever made (it has ID 101).

  • Extravaganza: The first song that was over 180 BPM (195 technically).
  • Final Audition: It spawned a sequel in The O.B.G. mix.

  • Final Audition 2: The first "song sequel" of the game.
  • Turkey March: Fun, if slightly overrated, it was often used as a "gateway" song to see if you could start doing Crazies.

  • Mr. Larpus: A boss song to an extent, this was one of the hardest songs back in the day.
  • Solitary: Commonly freestyled from what I've seen, it has a good beat. It also spawned a sequel in Exceed 2.

  • Bye Bye Bye: The first time 'N Sync appears on a dancing game.
  • Oops! I Did it Again: The first time Britney Spears appears on a dancing game.
  • Take On Me: The only american song with difficult steps , and the most popular out of american songs released on this game stepwise.

  • Love is a Danger Zone: As far as I know, it's very popular, and it eventually spawned a difficult sequel in Zero.
  • Winter: Another one of Banya's classical songs.

  • Join the Party: The song with the long hold for the entire song on Crazy. The challenge is to hold it while not missing anything else.
  • Mexi Mexi: Until Zero came along, when this was chosen on Crazy, the BPM doubled automatically before speed mods came in. I'm unsure if others did this before this song.

  • Dignity: Extremely difficult runs and holds on both Crazy and Nightmare, this was one of the songs to beat during the Exceed era.
  • Pump Me Amadeus: The third Banya Classic.
  • Monkey Fingers: A song that needed to be unlocked via secert code

  • Canon-D: No matter if the short or long version is chosen, it was tough the whole way through.
  • Solitary 2: A famous hidden song within the game, it proved to be harder than its older brother, Solitary.

  • Love is a Danger Zone pt. 2: The only lv 21 song before NX came out. Its Full Version is featured on NX's Special Station, which has a very particular ending on Nightmare mode.
  • Phantom: On Crazy, instead of speeding up at a certain point, it slows down...way down. Considering that many Pump players play on high speeds, this change is something I don't understand. Also, its Crazy steps are one of the most interesting I've seen.
  • Moonlight: A song that also slowed way down on both Crazy and Nightmare modes. It had a lot of "drills" and is considered to be a very tiring song even for the best players <-maybe not anymore.
  • Beat of the War 2: Sequel to Beat of the War. A very played song by many. Its Full Version is featured on NX's Special Station.

[edit] NX: New Xenesis (Arcade)

  • Chimera: The hardest song on both Crazy and Nightmare, as stated in its bg video: "ULTIMATE SPEED." Rated level "?????" on Nightmare (which only happened with Anothers or songs meant for two players). It is based on Mozart's "The Queen of the Night" opera. Also, the song with the third highest BPM (second being Will o' the Wisp, and first being She Likes Pizza).
  • Bemera: Featured on the new Special Station as a remix of Bee and Chimera. When players thought Moonlight was going to be the hardest song "of that kind", Bemera came, as the most stamina-draining official song in Pump It Up. Besides having lots of drill steps, it is a long song, leaving Zero's Moonlight way behind.
  • Final Audition Episode 2-1: A sequel to Final Audition Episode 1. One of the hardest songs in NX, but not as hard as it's sister FAEP 2-2. It has very hard runs.
  • Final Audition Episode 2-2: A faster, remixed version of FAEP 2-1. Considered the hardest arcade song after Chimera.
  • Wi-Ex Doc-Va: Featured on the new Special Station as a remix of Witch Doctor and Extravaganza. Although not as hard as other songs, its Nightmare step [ending part] requires a lot of stamina and flexibility.

considering that the world championship for Pump is having it's 2nd annual competition (WPF, World Pump Fest) shouldn't there be an article on it? at the very least a mention of it in this article and how the tournament system works

Local---->Region---->National---->WPF

and show how in the male speed division they can't use bar at Nationals or WPF but women can use the bar in all tournaments.

Also, according to Pump Haven's home page on November 2nd, 2006. They referred to a post made in Bemanistyle that seems true but it seems like it was from a leak. http://www.ph-online.net/html/

According to this post, the new version of Pump It Up will be called New Xenisis. An admin for the website Pump Haven (Valius) reports:

"This is the OFFICIAL name of the new mix to be revealed at WPF, but the logo is still awaiting confirmation.

Some of the details we have knowledge of:

-The release date: 12/December/2006 (in Mexico). Or possibly during WPF? unconfirmed -This version may not be compatible with the mk5 board. unconfirmed -It's possible that this version will be distributed with the mk7 board. unconfirmed -Pre-sale price (in Mexico): US$1200. confirmed -37 new songs. unconfirmed -7 new songs in POP Channel. unconfirmed -The 6 songs from Exceed SE may be featured here. unconfirmed -New game mode OR old game mode that makes a come-back. unconfirmed -Official Pump it up NX site opens in 1 month. confirmed (?)

In relation to the new game mode OR old game mode return. Some say this may be the return of Half-Doubles (which would be awesome). Additionally, I have heard reports from the Bemanistyle post that Andamiro will focus more on bringing back old songs rather than implementing new songs (they still will get new songs, but I think this mix's focus is on old-school Pump songs and bringing them with new steps).

I'm all for having an article on WPF. I still need to finish reorganizing the Pump article too (see my userpage to see what I mean). If you feel up to writing a WPF article, go for it. Just make sure to keep it encyclopedic, and provide sources to any references so nobody complains. eXonyte 18:25, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi guys, I acreated the article World Pump Festival, Am very new to Wikipedia... I know its a haphazard article now. Sorry, will update with links and more structured information later today. I travelled from England to Korea for WPF 2006 and feel it really needs a mention as a significant part of Pump culture today (toby7ten 01:30, 4 October 2007 (GMT)

  • PIU:Pro is a commercial fork of StepMania that uses a similar interface to the original PIU interface. It should have its own article; but at the moment, it hasn't been covered my gaming press, yet alone PIU's website, so it fails WP:SOFTWARE. --wL<speak·check> 21:33, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I see that Pro has received a separate section, but it's quite messy and rather unencyclopedic. Pump It Up Pro has neither been confirmed nor PR'ed by Andamiro, so I've taken the liberty of deleting it. Revert it if you wish, but provide a reasonable edit summary and respond to this comment, or I'll revert it back and invoke 3RR.--WaltCip 03:04, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

If any article related to Pro gets created, it really needs to be a separate one and not mixed with this article in particular. Pro completely strays off from nearly every element of the main Korean series, and is more alike ITG than Pump. The only reason "Pump" is still added to this thing's name is because of Andamiro wanting to make money off it (they did the same thing with In the Groove 2). Yes, it's confirmed to be released, it's already been shown in a trade show in Andamiro's section, etc, but this is a spinoff in a completely separate direction and should not be included in this article. [edit] Game Version, Fire, NX, Edit

According to Turkeymarch on Pump-Haven. Fire is only playable in World Tour mode or in Special Station (Full Version). As of 04.30.07, no one has reported a way to unlock Fire in Arcade Station and the general consensous amongst the PIU community is that the Game version is un-playable in Arcade Station. So I'm removing it. If there is a way to play it in Arcade Station I'll put it back Xatticus

I believe it should count as a new song. Despite it only being playable in one mode of the game, it technically STILL counts as a new song! Just because it has restrictions on playing does NOT mean it shouldn't count. And its charts in World Tour are a major part of the mode and one of the charts, the legendary "hit the gaps with all the crap filled up in the screen" mission, is playable pretty much right from the getgo. Speaking as "Turkeymarch on Pump-Haven" (Turkeyslam, actually), I recommend putting it BACK, but perhaps with a little notice stating that it's on World Tour only. Funbox 17:02, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Actually... I've taken the liberty to re-add it, but with the slight alteration that these are arcade VERSION songs, and not necessarily ones you can play in the station (Episode 2-2 takes forever to get on a regular machine, and even longer on a 1.08 machine as well)... this way we can re-add fire. Hell, World Tour even has remixes in them and they can be played inside... and many Zero songs which are not playable in Arcade Station anymore still have a great presence in World Tour (Empire of the Sun, J Bong, U, and more)... but that doesn't mean they're not in the game. Whoever undid my edit from yesterday anonymously, you better explain yourself. I did a huge revision on the page and it's pretty crappy that someone would just come and undo all my work without explaining why.

I'm re-adding my changes. Here's what's been done and why:

  • Mix names and information changed - many mix names currently here are incorrect (in particular the 1st Dance Floor)... also, the versions available (arcade, PC, consoles, PSP) are not always mentioned. Also, changing the format because "Korean 2nd Dance Floor" does not sound right at all.
  • The "international dance floor" and mix numbering... it's not worth keeping. Keep it removed. It's a useless system with incorrect continuity and it messes up the organization of the article. If it MUST be included, however, then give the correct information! Rebirth is not the "4th dance floor"! It's the 8th! http://www.ph-online.net/media/images/mixes/rebirth.jpg
  • Evolutionary Dance Floor (and Banya Collection, which I'll add later) are the only Pump PC versions not included in the list. If Fusion and the other PC versions of old games are on the list, then this deserves to be on the list.
  • REMOVAL of In the Groove 2. This is not a fanboyish move, but this article is clearly defined as the Andamiro/F2/Freevolt/Nexcade-developed series and NOT on spinoffs. If Pump it Up Pro was removed from this article completely this quickly and given its own article, then In the Groove has no right to be left in the article either. Perhaps a very small note could be left on "spinoffs or other versions" mentioning those two games, and how this article focuses on only the main line of releases (sort of how O2Jam's article defines itself as being based only on the Malaysian version), but it has no right staying there as a legitimate release in this series in this article.

Uhh...no it is not, I found it in both the Arcade and PC versions of Perfect Collection. I'll remove it for the time being.

The PC version of Perfect Collection contains the song but it is not in the stage.cfg as a playable file. I don't know about the arcade version of it, but I'm sure the PC version has it unplayable by default.24.162.33.128 22:19, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm extremely surprised that this article doesn't mention DDR. I was under the impression that Pump It Up was a fairly obvious rip-off of DDR. Regardless of if it was released before or after, I feel the article should mention DDR.
