The Pulpwood Queens is the largest meet and greet book club in the world. Founded in early 2000 by Kathy L. Patrick, the group has grown from an initial 6 members to over 1000 members worldwide with over 60 chapters.[citation needed] The group is concerned with promoting literacy and good literature. The group has an annual convention Girlfriend Weekend held annually in January.
