Puerto Cancún is a marina and land development in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, north of the city of Cancún. The development is in progress and is planned to include a golf course, hotels, condominiums, time shares and spaces for retail businesses. The multi million dollar development project is a partnership between Fonatur, Mexico's National Trust Fund for Tourism Development, and Michael Eugene Kelly who is the CEO and President of Puerto Cancun. Michael Eugene Kelly is currently in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, Chicago, facing charges of operating a $419 million dollar Ponzi scheme prior to the establishment of the Puerto Cancun project. In an attempt to hide the fact that Michael Eugene Kelly manages Puerto Cancun, portions of this wiki article have been deleted and Michael Eugene Kelly's name has been removed from an August 2004 Puerto Cancun press release available in this file Media:Puerto cancun-press release 8-2004.pdf
