Talk:PsyBNC

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why was this talk page deleted, while leaving the actual article? I had once added this section to the article and plan to re-add it.

Malicious Use psyBNC running on a machine with out the knowledge of the user may be a backdoor or trojan into the machine or part of a Denial of Service (DOS) Attack, Zombie Network, or botnet.

Also here is an archived talk page from before the delete... http://en.wikilib.com/wiki/Talk:PsyBNC

I recently saw psybnc run at startup on my parents computer (renamed as svchosts.exe and moved into the windows directory). I believe psybnc was being used to make their computer part of DOS attack. There is no mention of this in the article and I plan to add this under a "Malicous Use" section Apparently I'm not the only one to see psybnc being used for botnets. another instance --Dave1g 04:07, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Here is an old vote for deletion: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/PsyBNC but it was voted KEEP by consensus

I put this information here since it is very important for people to recognize this software if it is running on their computers without their consent. I have no problem if it is only the developers of the project or fervent users minding this page, and am in general against the deletion nazism on wikipedia as of late, but if this article is to remain, and I think it should, then they have to take the bad with the good as NPOV is required on wikipedia.
