Psila Alwnia square, was at the first years large crops in which many farmers were working into for the local production of Patras. Later, his character as a square changed completely when many buildings raised up from the wealthiest people of the city, like Gustav Klaus and others. Now the huge statue to the revolution of 1821, an old solar clock and the bust of K.Palamas are some of the monuments on Psila Alwnia square. In this photo, you can clearly see the statue of Palaiwn Patrwn Germanos who according to tradition raised along with the Greek soldiers the banner of Greek Revolution in 1821 against the Ottoman rule.
