Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes is an aerobic, Gram negative soil bacterium that was first isolated from swimming pool water[1]. It is able to use cyanide as a nitrogen source, and as a result it may be used for bioremediation[2]. Based on 16S rRNA analysis, P. pseudoalcaligenes has been placed in the P. aeruginosa group[3].
