Pseudomonas oryzihabtans is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped, motile bacterium that can cause peritonitis, septicemia, endophthalmitis, and bacteremia. It derives its name from the fact that, in addition to being isolated in clinical settings, it can also be found infecting rice (Oryza sativa)[1]. Based on 16S rRNA analysis, P. oryzihabitans has been placed in the P. putida group[2].
