[edit] Karting

Not sure why you keep deleting the post: Industry Organizations :

This is a valid NON PROFIT organization (Not sure if you understand the concept) that supports karting in the US. The organzation promotes karting not for itself but for the growth of the sport in general similar to other industry organizations. This is a free resource for karters, kart equipment retailers, kart manufacturers. Members include Tony, CRG, Bridgestone etc. We are NOT looking for inbound links, but making the organization a resource to karters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Prosati (talkcontribs) 15:07, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

If you refer to the above posted WP guidelines 1 ) The website you linked to seems to provide mainly commercial information or advertisement. 2 ) You are personaly involved with that organization as president as your current Wikipedia user name indicates. You can always list your site in the Karting section of the Open Directory Project - dmoz which in turn is linked at the bottom of the article. Thank you for that clarification. Yes I am associated with it, but didn't think it was an issue as the organization serves the industry in an unbiased way. I can ask someone to post the link- if you prefer. Yes, there is a fee for membership however ALL of the membership dues GO TO PROMOTE karting. NOBODY makes any income/salary from the organization, we are all volunteers. The company profiles are of organizations that want to promote karting, they DO NOT pay to "advertise" on our site. As you see there are links (currently under development) to list all of the race tracks in the US. And we will be listing all kart manufacturers etc. At the 2008(December)-Performance racing industry show in orlando we are going to announce our national advertising plan. The goal of this plan will be to promote karting as the entry to motorsports in the US. Currently, karting is NOT promoted formally in the US, the KIC's mission is to provide promotion for all types of the sport. Moreover, part of our initiative is to promote the FAMILY aspects of karting. In the US we see that aspect of karting as one of the most important as it is one of the true family oriented sports. Actually, if you would, I would appreciate you relisting the post so that we are not in violastion of wikipedia policies. Thank you for taking the time to explain. Regards - prosati | talk to me
Sorry, I won't do that. Dozens of links, most of them with interesting features, have been deleted before and it has been decided to only keep links to governing bodies. - Wikigi | talk to me | 16:21, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Who decided to keep the "governing bodies" only? Is this your decision? - prosati | talk to me —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.101.74.25 (talk) 17:09, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
