[edit] Col. David Jeffrey Wright

the "Problemsmith"

I am Col. David J. Wright, American environmentalist responsible for a number of environmental programs between 1988 and 2001. I was given the title of Colonel by Governor Paul Patton of Kentucky in 1996 for my environmental work and tree planting programs that I organized nationally.

In 1988 I founded an organization that protected endangered species of turtles in North America. During which time I had the chance to meet and consult with then Senator Al Gore over the endangered bog turtle (Clemmys muhlenbergi) and justified protection of several niche ecosystems in Tennessee.

In 1990 I became the coordinator for the 20th Anniversary of Earth Day in Delaware, and organized Earth Day events and environmental expositions in Delaware and Philadelphia.

In 1992 I moved to Berea, Kentucky and founded a new organization to push the environmental movement even further called Ecology Crossroads. The new group promoted green living, conservation practices, alternative energy and distributed trees throughout the United States for planting during Arbor Day, Earth Day, and special reforestation projects in areas affected by natural disasters. In 1999 we sold our website responsible for distributing trees to the National Arbor Day Foundation because we experienced more demand than we could provide publicly from our small town location in Kentucky.

In 2001, I co-founded the Pan-American Foundation (PAFUSA) | Fundacion Panamericana (FUPAVEN) where I currently work as the Executive Director in its Latin American office in Caracas helping people transform their lives by helping them establish home based businesses and cottage industries.

Besides helping people evolve their homemade products into safer more commercial products that can be sold globally and within the tourist industry; I am involved in a number of other efforts at a local level in Caracas. Some of my other endeavors include teaching conversational and technical English, working as a tour guide in Venezuelas Guyana Highlands and the Amazon region, establishing an intentional community where the Guyana Highlands merges with the jungle and bringing methodology to people in Venezuela that many Americans take for granted.

I adopted the nickname of "Problemsmith" in 1999 when he became a private marketing strategist and business consultant.
