Talk:Protoself
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grr. Can someone please revert this to an appropriate revision, as I can't get at the edit history at the moment. If there are accuracy problems, don't blank the article but discuss it here! Thanks Dysprosia 23:18, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)
If we don't have anybody familiar with the topic, and if nobody wants to talk to the original author, who is apparently the only one who has purported familiarity with the topic, there is no reason to assume the content is valid. It is not verifiable on line. Even the idea that Damasio popularized the idea of a protoself is specious, if it is not based on reference to Damasio or other's writing. And nobody is offering those references, and nobody cares enough about the topic to look them up. The conflict seems to be more about who can and who cannot edit, regardless if the contributions are valid. The article has not been blanked, it is a stub, and even the stubbified version is not readily verifiable.
If people are more interested in who can and who cannot edit at Wikipedia than they are in esoteric approaches to neurology, maybe the article should just be deleted. What would be the loss, except to somebody's pride that they could not force the retention of an article written by a writer who then refused to attest to the validity of a contribution?
