It would be interesting to know whether or not any of this has been published for peer review (an interesting point, even if it has been published for peer review concerns whether or not a 50 TB disk would match well with current day internet speeds - also, I am sure that there have been respectable looking papers that have passed peer review, but have turned out to be slight forgeries, but that's a different point altogether...).

Er well it's difficult to compare a physical medium to "internet speeds" But it presently takes several hours at least for the 'average' internet connection to transfer a 4gb DVD. So a 50 TB disk which is over 1000x... Well you get the idea. Of course, given that this is still highly theoretical technology, there's not much point in comparing it to present day internet speeds. No idea what the original post is trying to say, but since this is a new technology in development, mostly universities and labs will be using them. Laboratories and Universities are renown for their insane transfer speeds, some using backbone grade or higher optical cable. Dboyz-x.etown 01:21, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
