The recent anonymous editor is correct that Προπυλαία is the plural of Προπυλαίov. It therefore means "the gates." Perhaps we ought to have a generic article Propylaeum (although I would prefer Propylaion) and a specific article The Propylaea, Athens, explaining the specific use of the plural name for the gates to the Athens Acropolis.
