[edit] Las Vegas sighting
I've been keeping tabs on PY's Yahoo group, and it looks like tomarow (the fifteenth of July) is the big day in Las Vegas! I'll update the article if something actualy shows up!
- I take it something showed up and the debate is now over? I can't believe I missed the news coverage. SnaX 01:11, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ramon Watkins or Prophet Yahweh?
A recent edit to this article raised ths issue of whether the subject should be referred to as Ramon Watkins (his birth name) or Prophet Yahweh (the name he has adopted).
A quick check of similar cases on Wikpedia (eg Cassius Clay and Cat Stevens) show that articles refer to someone by their birth name until the time they adopt a new one, then the naming convention is to refer to them by their new name. So - paragraphs in the Cat Stevens article use that name until 1978 and Yusuf Islam afterward.
In this article, Prophet Yahweh is also this person's better-known name, and would logically be the one used in the piece.
So - I have changed the references to Prophet Yahweh for all mentions after Watkins adopted this name. Please note that this does not suggest I endorse this person or his teachings - I personally think Watkins' use of the name "Yahweh" in this context is inappropriate (but thats a personal view and shouldn't affect this article)
If there is disagreement with the above, please post your view here and we'll aim for a consensus. Jeendan 22:16, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
