To Mr./Mrs. Anonymous who has now removed this line twice: ""Problem Child" is one of the few AC/DC songs to contain outright profanity, with Scott uttering "fuck this" at the beginning." If you're going to remove something from an article, have enough courage in your convictions to log in and explain why you're removing it. I don't think "fuck" is a forbidden word at Wikipedia -- why else would it have an article devoted to that very word? And the phrase "fuck this" is in fact spoken at the beginning of the song. Please explain why you keep removing it. Thehaikumaster 01:31, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
- I can perhaps explain why someone keeps removing it - he doesn't say that. He clearly says, "Cop this". I've not removed it before, by the way. I've never met anyone who suggested he says, "Fuck this", and let's face it, why would he say that? Bretonbanquet 11:51, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, there are definitely people who think he says "fuck this" -- I wrote the main text for this page, and originally had it only as a "well known epithet," thinking profanity shouldn't be used in Wiki pages. Someone else came along and changed it to "fuck this" shortly thereafter. Are there any AC/DC-released lyric sheets/liner notes that can confirm one way or the other? Either way, now that the reason for the constant removal of "fuck this" has been explained, I'm willing to leave as is until someone can find proof one way or the other. There was a lyric sheet with the vinyl issue - I don't have it with me, but I would definitely remember if it said "Fuck this". I was 16 or 17 at the time I bought the album, and I would have made a very strong mental note of that. I think it just started with "I'm hot...". There are always people who will "hear" profanties where there aren't any. In any case, it makes no sense for him to say "Fuck this", and "Cop this" is far more likely, apart from the fairly clear sound of it. The only 'fuck' I know of on an AC/DC song is on "Ain't No Fun" from the same album. There are a couple of 'shits' on "Rock 'n' Roll Singer" and "If You Want Blood" but I think that's about it, off the top of my head. Blatant effing was not easy to get away with in those days. For some reason Problem Child replaced a great blues-type number called Crabsody in Blue on all cd copies of the Let There Be Rock album. Its never been fully explained why.
- It was because the record companies in the US and Japan thought the song was obscene... American sensibilities are a bit fragile like that. European and Aussie fans got Crabsody on all vinyl issues, then saw it removed from the CD release thanks to the Yanks... Bretonbanquet 14:32, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
