ProjectSpaces is an extranet tool developed in March 2000, by Forum One Communications. It is offered as a hosted software as a service tool and is often compared to other products like Basecamp and SharePoint. ProjectSpaces is built on the LAMP (software bundle) platform and can also be installed and run by organizations on their own servers.
Features
ProjectSpaces is not as fully featured as some other competitors out there that include time trackers, invoicing, databases, etc. Instead, ProjectSpaces claims to forgo some functionality to be simpler and more intuitive to use. In terms of features, ProjectSpaces is similar to many other collaborative software / services on the market, offering a document library, task and workplan management, announcements, discussions, and group calendars. It allows commenting on various content, and users can sign up for RSS feeds or push e-mail notifications to other users.
