[edit] History
Yana was born somewhere in the Silver Devastation, and was found as a naked, abandoned baby with only a fob watch. He spent his life travelling from one refugee ship to another, and as an old man, he spent 17 years on the planet Malcassairo, working with Chantho (Chipo Chung), fellow scientist and apparently the last of the Malmooth, trying to find a way of getting the last surviving humans to the legendary planet Utopia, where the human race could survive the nearing end of the universe. However, Yana and Chantho could not actually activate and launch the rocket - until the last surviving Time Lord, the Doctor (David Tennant), arrived with his companions Martha (Freema Agyeman) and Captain Jack (John Barrowman). Together the five managed to launch the ship and it's passengers. However, the drumbeat that Yana had been hearing every moment of his life was getting louder, and Martha discovered that the fob watch actually contained a Time Lord conciousness - Yana and his whole back story up until he met Chantho was actually an invention. Yana opened the fob watch and died - his true self, the Master, took over his body.
